Hi, just picked this kit up for a good price and to have a bit of fun with. Haven't done a masterbox kit before and thought, why not.

Got to say that the motorcycle build so far has been atrocious, nothing fits together very well and there's more flash than DC Comics !

I will keep going on the motorbike and post some photos later, I will let you know about the figures when I finish the bike.

Hi Mate,
Master Box are very nice kits, but do seem sometimes to be a few Years behind in Injection moulding technique and technology.
Their instructions are often found to be printed on the back of the box and really need you to test fit, test fit again and again, as mating locations are not always easy to locate. They are good practice for those building their experience level.

I have the R75 and Sidecar without crew as the initial release and looked at it like you and thought, oh my god.........

However you can find people's builds on the Web and see completed builds and looks in the grau or dunkelgelb (Pink, Purple, sky blue etc) They are a lovely looking result. Somewhere I have a couple of Mantis Model figures, bought to go with mine.

Patience, good glue control and nice thinned paint coats and you will build a wee cracker. Rember, test, test, test and test fit, before stickin mit Der glooooo.

Happy New Year
John

Done some of the build, it's not great but by the time it's painted, weathered and the figures are on it I'm hoping it won't look that bad.

Done a bit more of the build. It has been very challenging so far which has also made it very addictive and frustrating at the same time. I have decided to cut out all the plastic pipework and replace it with solder wire. Also got to do a fair bit of cleaning and sanding before I prime the little devil.

So I have added the metal pipework, it's not great but after cleaning, sanding and priming it should look OK. Most of it will be covered anyway.

Started putting the figures together, got to fill and sand them as the build fit is terrible. Going to prime these guys slightly different to normal and will probably paint them without their kit, will add it later.

So I have hand primed the crew with vallejo bone primer for the fleshy part's and vallejo grey primer for the rest of the body.

The bone colour looks more green than bone but hopefully several layers of flesh tones will improve my sickly looking crew.

I think I will go back to airbrush for the grey primer in future, it gives a flatter appearance.

Finally done a little bit more of the bike crew. Got a few more washes to do on them and all their kit to de-flash, that's going to take ages but looking forward to the challenge.

I have finally cleaned all the flash from the motorcycle crews kit, all 35 part's. Now ready for priming and painting.

Figures are looking good
Thanks, I think I'm improving slightly. Still learning but have settled on my way of doing them. I would like to try a few resin figures just to see how the details differ from the box standard tamiya or masterbox.

The lads are getting there slowly, just adding their kit a few items at a time to ensure everything fit's.

Got a fair bit to do on the face's yet but think I'll make a reasonable job when it's all added to the Tiger 1 diorama.

Would welcome any comments to improve them from my fellow modelers.

How can you deal with this :

It's a real issue, I am tormented by the conundrum of keeping the work mat spotless and using paper towel !!

What is especially annoying is when the paper towel perforations don't allow you to tear a neat line, hence the odd shape on the photo.

I could continue to discuss this with you for a number of hour's but as you're probably already asleep...........I will just add that the cutting mat is 14 months old. Im loving the free therapy though.

You need to tidy up before the paparazzi arrive .
:D
Nowhere near as egregious as that stick of baseboard from months back .

I have a confession, I still haven't fixed it !!
In fact, it's worse now than before.
You may have guilt tripped me into fixing it tomorrow but that will eat into my build time.
What a dilemma
