Hi everyone. I have got to rebuild/repaint a model built by a friend who wasn't happy with his finished job. The model cost £130 and has added another £50 in PE.

Any suggestions!!!

One of my most favorite aircraft .

Looks like your friend did a decent job to me .
What kind of primer and paint ? Acrylic or alkyd ?

I thought so too but he bought another one to build. More money than sense. All tamiya acrylic used.

start rubbing it off with cotton balls soaked in alcohol .
Or , you can use one of the sodium hydroxide solutions in cleaners like " Super Clean "

I have no advice, I'm just here for moral support and to say I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

Thanks. Think I will just strip it down to start with and see what happens. Put it on the bench and have no room left. I will sort a photo later to try showing the scale of it.

That thing is a beast!
A bigger man cave would be required if I were to start building at this scale but I'm glad that I have had the opportunity to work on one.
I'm pretty sure that the details will sing out once it's stripped back. Looks like too many layers of thick paint applied. Pantherman

Started to remove the bit's and pieces. My guess for paint stripping would be a month so probably going to be less post's from now on !!!!! Pantherman

Might have a few issues respraying the monster. Didn't really think about that until I was trying to find somewhere to store it.
