I thought so too but he bought another one to build. More money than sense. All tamiya acrylic used.
Strip and respray. Might try to open up the cockpit and redo the pilot as well.

What would suggest for stripping the paint?

Have you got a big ultrasonic cleaner? They strip paint and don't damage rubber or plastic.
I don't build planes but it doesn't look that bad to me.
It's a monster of a build, 1/24 is huge compared to my normal builds. Lovely kit though. Pantherman
Thanks. Think I will just strip it down to start with and see what happens. Put it on the bench and have no room left. I will sort a photo later to try showing the scale of it.
A bigger man cave would be required if I were to start building at this scale but I'm glad that I have had the opportunity to work on one.
Started to remove the bit's and pieces. My guess for paint stripping would be a month so probably going to be less post's from now on !!!!! Pantherman
Might have a few issues respraying the monster. Didn't really think about that until I was trying to find somewhere to store it.
