Chose a Tamiya kit for ease of assembly and of course price was very reasonable! I'll be utilizing the unique Rlm 02/63/71 splinter pattern. The aftermarket decals come from Aeromaster and it's my first time with them, I have used Eaglecals and loved them.

I've gotten the cockpit about 75% completed as of now. Not sure if I'm gonna go with heavy weathering and wear because this aircrafts camo is documented as of November '39.

Can't really go wrong with Tamiya. Good choice. Pantherman

All primed and rescribed. I'd never had success with putties because I'd always reactivate the composition when painting over and creating shadow line sinks. Much better success with Zap a Gap medium! I won't be riveting because my 1/48 wheel is definitely dull and it's diameter won't let me get to concave sections and finding a Rosie the Rivetor has been like searching for Shangri-la!!

Thanks! Yeah doing splinter camo always dents my supply lol
Do yourself a favor… buy Frog Yellow Painter Tape. Far cheaper than Tamiya tape and it acts exactly like Tamiya tape. I use it all the time and it's my go-to hobby tape for all my masking needs.

Lowes, Home Depot and Walmart has them. Any paint supply store also carries them too.

I also use Frog green painter tape (a little more tackier and not much thicker than Frog yellow tape) as well as the typical blue painter tape.

Frog yellow? OK yeah will do thanks!

Finished product. Being November of 1939 weathing is light and faintly faded. Happy with the build but the rear most canopy had horizontal bars that were warped off. Happy with the paint mostly, but wish RLM 63 and 02 could be more pronounced from one another. Not Happy with the Aeromaster decals....either old or just how they are but they became brittle right outta the warm water. I tried to quickly dip then pull and let the backing sheet become soaked and still....brittle. Anyways here she is.
