The Space Robots from Outer Space are putting a heavy metal band together.

Making some slow progress on the Space Robot Band.

I submit to you that, one has not truly lived until one has made a 1/10th scale Flying-V electric bass guitar.

Very cool! I especially love the little guitar!

I made some new instruments for the Space Robot Band. Adding strings will be a challenge.

Hah! There are always strings attached when it comes to guitars.

Here's a little more progress on the Space Robot Band. I got the 44 gauge wire. It's way too small. I will try to find something slightly larger. Having fun.

Well howdy there internet people. How many guitars does a Space Robot band need anyway? The answer may surprise you. They are fun to make and cost pennies, and I like the challenge. I took some pictures while I added strings to the little guys Flying V. This guitar was my prototype to see if I could do it. The tuning pegs are made from tiny brass tacks, pressed flat, bent, and the pointy bit sanded flat. The strings are from stranded wire, like from an extension cord. I needed a mini spindle sander, but I couldn't find one to buy. So I made my own using my laser and stuff I had in the shop. I did have to buy the drill chuck for $10.
