I went for an IKEA glass cases with LED USB rechargeable lights. I like the multiple viewing angles, and that I could add acrylic half shelves if I need extra space. The small footprint is an added bonus!

I used those from Ikea.. I live in Europe and not sure they have the same in the USA however, good size and not expensive.
Added some LED ruban to get lights.

Those are nice; they have a sleek look to them. Could you add more shelves if you wanted to?

Regardless the cabinet...this deserves a dedicated shelf (IMHO)...

It is not designed for (no support for additional shelves) but should easy to install additional brackets if you get the proper glass shelf.

The only ones I've found are insanely expensive ($5-10K USD - commercial purpose like a jeweler or something) or are really just a bit fancy/girly for the mancave. Like this one (below), it is beautiful, but not cheap and not exactly what I was looking for. Adjustable shelves and adding more shelves is mandatory. Most cabinets I've seen have a huge space between shelves, for taller objects than my collection which is mostly 1/48 aircraft and 1/35 armor with a few cars thrown in.

My daughter was throwing this away so it was immediately recycled to my new display/store cabinet. Pantherman

I have a couple of those along with a short longer one ideal for submarines and other long ships.

I have a glass Ikea cabinet that I modified. They don't have the exact model anymore, but it's similar to this:

The price was about the same too, $79. I went to Ace Hardware and had them cut some 1 square foot panes of window glass, and added several shelves. I'm going to have to add a few more.

Nice, I have two of the same ones!
I was thinking about adding shelves as well...
