Sounds funny but I've started the engine! Here's seven of the twelve components! I hope to do some painting tomorrow before attaching the other parts.

When finished I can modify the chassis, copying the original one from the kit.

So the engine is built but I couldn't find a wired distributor as most things are packed prior to our move!

The beginnings of the chassis. The engine, wheels etc. Not super detailed, so to then space the wheels and continue with the body shape.

Watching your scratch build of a 'buggy' makes me feel a satisfaction and excitement that perhaps may never be felt by coming generations: building that perfect soap box racer with odds and ends from dad's garage or the back garden shed.
