"Century Series" #1 "The Hun" 1/48 from Trumpeter

Still working on the old girl. After a heavy application of artist's oils I had top put it in the closet for several days, waited until it was not sticky anymore :)

SMA What's New In Your Stash?!?

Guilty as charged. After posting I realized that what I posted is the stash I've purchased since last year that I do intend to complete. I might looks for a better F-8 kit and stow the classic one. There's another pile near the same number of old ones purchased in the last century, literally...

How to tell what size a needle and tip is without the label on the tube?

I know that Badger used a marking system, I think it was a stripe, one, two, three identified large medium small. But if there's no marking a visual inspection should be possible. A difference of 0.1mm is hard to measure, but side-by-side you should be able to see which is larger.

SMA What's New In Your Stash?!?

The Su-57 came in from Poland, technically the only thing "new" but my stash is up to 15 unopened kits now. I'm imposing a halt for now. With 15 in waiting and another 8 that have been started and not finished, I need to focus on clearing the latter ones first. This is my ENTIRE stash...

thinning tamiya bottle paints for airbrushing

I've seen Tamiya XF and thinners settle out, but it takes several days, maybe weeks do do so. It never alarmed me before, I saw the same thing with my beloved "Model Maters" enamels too.

Kotare 1/32 Spitfire Va as flown by Douglas Bader

Many of them are markers for the fasteners on certain panels. The entire cowling has several dozen of them, white and black ones depending on background. They appear to be two small arrows of a sort, to show the mechanic were they are? Some of them are single letter marks, I'm thinking a QA...

Kotare 1/32 Spitfire Va as flown by Douglas Bader

I'm still moving forward with this one. Learning (the hard way sometimes) to slow down is helping. This picture is after panel lining but before stencils. It is a little hard to see but I wanted the large stickers to be down before panel lining so that I could have the shading on them...
