Oh, that is so cool to be able to see what angle you are at. This really is a great jig.

Clear coating chrome like Green Stuff Chrome Metal

I did a little looking around. Yes, aircraft guys are using Bare Metal Foil. There is a soft wood burnishing tool at art supply stores I saw being talked about. Or use soft wood like basswood, very carefully to burnish the BMF. And I read that some people polich BMF with toothpaste.

Clear coating chrome like Green Stuff Chrome Metal

They might be using Bare Metal Foil for those aircraft. You can burnish that to pick up panel detils and if you get extra bright chrome it shines up nice. Plus it is real metal so maybe it can be polished a little.

It is a duble space battleship! COOL! I really like how you finished it off. The paint and weathering.

I am really impressed with all the jig work you do. I just lean parts against jars of paint or random pieces of plastic. HAHA

Clear coating chrome like Green Stuff Chrome Metal

I have done extensive experimenting with chrome paints because I am looking for the best results possible for my automotive builds and here are the results I have come up with........ Spaz Stix. Don't even bother. It is not very chromey and it is pretty expensive considering it is not very...

Is anyone using a Proxxon (or other) ultrasonic cutter?

I have some tools from Proxxon. They are very high quality. Ultrasonic cutters are already pretty expensive tools, I probably would look for a less expensive brand unless you have some specific reason for going with Proxxon. And as urumomo said, the ultrasonic cutter is probably not the best...

    '64 Honda S600 - Tamiya

That turned out really good. Nice work. That Hasegawa Mirror Chrome tape. I am not a fan. It is not flexible and resapable like BMF. It is literally like trying to work with a sticker, so it doesn't burnish well. And it is thick, so if you overlap pieces anywhere you will see the line. I'm...

I always add those things before the clearcoat.

    Retrowave 1983 Nissan Pulsar

The 4 center squares would be a hub cap that covers up the bolts. Movies like Kung Fury are exactly what I was thinking of. Neon colors and synthesizers. So when I was looking for a car I wanted straight edges and lots of angles.

    Retrowave 1983 Nissan Pulsar

I just completed this 1983 Nissan Pulsar kit from Aoshima. Like any of these 1/24th scale automotive kits from Aoshima, they are well engineered, and relatively simple. It is a curbside kit, so the hood does not open. The interior is simple but pretty well represented. And the best part is...

I have heard nothing but great things about Hobby Boss kits. I don't build aircraft, so I can't speak from experience, but my fellow model club members that do build them have no complaints. I really like how you are actually thinking of everything. Building this mashup like it would really be...
