    Do you sell your kits?

Just found this thread. In the past I built, and enjoyed displaying for years. once I got tired of them and wanted to make display room EBay was the place to get rid of them sometimes for a good chunk of cash. Unfortunately EBay’s new policies, regs and fees have ruined it for many including me...

    Finished Photos of Revell's 1/72 Scale U.S.S. Cobia (SS-245) WW2 Submarine

VERY well made, detailed and painted. The weathering is exceptionally realistic. This is indeed a trophy contender if ever entered in a model show. Great job

    When im not modeling

Currently working on the wife's to do list. Almost done doing wall panel molding. Caulking and paint to follow. The molding on the right in the picture been painted in the wall color blending in with a subtle look. It's very easy to do and adds a rich fancy look to the room. I have another...

Im done with modeling for awhile

This is a hobby is meant for relaxation, not stress or to become an anxiety maker. When things are not going well with the build the best thing one can do is stop, step away and come back with a fresh mind to continue on with the build. I have been model building since the early 1970s and never...

    MATILDA ON A VIGNETTE BASE

A really good product to use here is Durham’s Water Putty. It’s cheap, mixes, applies and takes paint well too. I add a little Elmers glue to the mix for extra bonding, paints can also be added while mixing.

    bubbles in paint

Your paint is thick and so is the coat (s) you brushed on. The enamel paint needs to be thinned with either mineral spirits, or lacquer thinner to a good brushable consistency, stirring really well to mix it. The trick to using red or yellow paint is to apply a white paint coat first and...

What would you do with these paints?

I have tried several of them and still like my enamels for air brushing. Lacquers are a close second . Panzer Aces brush very well and are good for figure painting.

Canadian ban on Tamiya spray paints?

I’m in Central Florida and the housing market is nuts. Rental prices have skyrocketed to astronomical monthly rates due to the large amount of people moving here. Even though the rent amounts are abusive they still get scooped up by renters. Same for home sales.

What would you do with these paints?

I do not like acrylics specially Vallejo. It’s hard to spray out of an xtra thin nozzle, hard to get thin even color demarcation lines and leaves a rubbery like finish. Some of their colors are off and not accurate. I love MM enamels, colors are accurate and are joy to spray. Properly thinned, I...

How do you pros prevent paint from running under masking tape?

Best method is to spray several light coats to avoid pooling.

What to do with old built model kits?

Before EBay had the politically correct bs going like not being able to show a swastika on a plane tail and didn’t have the abusive fees and 1099 paperwork I would post my older built models for sale. Not only did this generate some cash to buy supplies but it also freed up display space. They...
