    Alabama

You have a nice looking ol Alabama there. The ratlines look like the ones supplied in the kit.

    Remember When

I lived in the country and was given a second hand one. The banana seat lasted about two days and after a week, the front handle bars were stripped and the bearings were knocked out of the front wheel. The bike got transformed into a BMX style.

Kotare 1/32 Spitfire Va as flown by Douglas Bader

I have put rivets on 1/8th RC models and even at that scale, it was tedious and hard. 1/32 looks even more challenging. It will look dashing in the end though and be worth the time and effort.

Group Build: Historical Warships of WWII

I had some valuable time at the workbench over the holiday working on the Texas. These 1/700 Trumpeter kits really force one to make sure you test fit many times before gluing. A couple of holes needed to be opened up and a little slicing here and there along with a little bit of filing got...

    1978 Dodge Monaco Police Car

I thought that might have been the MPC kit. I remember building one a long time ago.

Boatmans 1/200 scale USS HORNET CV8 BUILD AN LIGHTS for the Doolittle raid on japan

Yes, the plates are way over scale and in my opinion, makes the hull look like a tank instead of a ship. Many of the build logs on line I watched show the modelers sanding them down, which take a lot of time ,and then replacing them with accurate plates made from very thin styrene, card stock...

I like it. Which kit is this?

Boatmans 1/200 scale USS HORNET CV8 BUILD AN LIGHTS for the Doolittle raid on japan

The hull doesn't have the huge hull plates molded into it like on the 1/350 scale kits. That is a huge plus.

    1/700 USS Maryland-1941

It is good to see you back Matt. My preferred scale is 1/700, so I will be following along with your build. Scott

Anybody know of a on-line store or an easier way to search for paint colors?

Whats the preferred source to buy paints for automotive models. Bothe airbrush and brush type enamels?

I have been using Americana for years. AB wells using saline or distilled water.

Group Build: Historical Warships of WWII

I'd be flying it around and making engine noises. And that would have been just yesterday.

    U.S.S. ABERCROMBIE DE343

I built that kit as a kid on my bedroom floor in about an hour. Everything fit good. Worn out molds and using cheap and inferior plastic material looks to have made this kit almost un-buildable.

Group Build: Historical Warships of WWII

Nice work Dan, the extra details in the hanger are really adding realism to the model.

    Pavesi P4-100 Gun tractor 2025-06

With so many pillars for support, they can make the diameter of the contact segment between the pillar and the part much smaller and it wont' leave such a large goose pimple or make it so hard to remove. You shouldn't have to apply so much heat to remove the supports. You could risk removing...
