    Next up....Vintage Revell F-4E circa 1975

Next up 1975 1/32 scale Revell F-4E with literally zero detail.....looking to bring in some 3D decals, kinda pricy though at $40. Looks like sanding off seat harness/belt detail and adding new ones, maybe seat EJ handles. Might paint the pilots but they are not....well just not. I owned this...

Do you model for looks or realism/accuracy

So, working on my present project I'm laying down decals, AND looking through my spare decals I found some warning decals for this or that from an old Vigilante kit and I decided to put them on the F-14. Purists might disagree but man they are looking cool.....what say the masses?

Temporarily attaching/placing canopy for priming and protecting cockpit

I prefer to display aircraft on the ground, wheels down and canopy open but often wonder what to use to affix the canopy in the down position temporarily on the aircraft to paint fuselage and canopy frame? Any suggestions? I found a removable adhesive gel or dots that could work but with my...

Low tack masking tape pulling off paint.

Alright, as a rookie I've done this twice now. Model in question is the terrible F-14A from Revell. Brother asked me to build one for him. Using Mission models white primer and Vallejo model air paints. First time I thought I didn't wait long enough for masking but 14ish hours later using what I...

Anyone knows of an exact replica model kit of John's 1969 Mustang. I have the Chevelle kit. I found a 1/25 scale resin John Wick figure looking to make up a little display. Thanks

Bullet proof glass F-14 canopy front question

Looking at real aircraft I see a reinforced glass plate sometimes different colors from the rest of the canopy. I have a model air transparent blue to recreate that effect, would you shoot that on the underside so it shows through or would spray on the outside for the effect?

    1975 Revell F-4E holy grail

Hello all, Wanted to share one of my holy grails, I bought this assembled model when I was eight years old for five bucks from a fourteen year old hanging from his ceiling. He had about five models I bought that day, each time running back to my house to ask for more money from mom and...

    Thunderbirds and Angels weathering?

Hello all, Happy new year. Over the holidays I picked up a T-Bird F-4E, F-16 and an Angel's A-4 Skyhawk, all 1/72nd scale....Those birds are very well maintained, should I go with straight out of the spraying booth and decals right to display or is there some weathering someone can do?

Revell 1/48 Maverick's Tomcat pretty rough

Anyone build the Revell 1/48 Top Gun Tomcat recently? It uses the older Monogram and Revell kit molds (in my stash), but man... the newer level 4 Revell kit is VERY rough, lots of flash and just not clean.

Return to model building after 43 years, having a blast, sad I ever quit....

So, new around here....I picked back up the hobby after 43 years, needed some stress reduction and added stress of a different type I guess. My wife bought me a Harbor Freight compressor and airbrush. I have picked up a couple of vintage holy grail kits I built as a kid. Current completed kits...

F-106 Delta Dart wheel wells and weapons bay color

New to the site, picked back up the hobby after throwing it away at 12 in favor of chasing girls and since I have my gal now for the last 30 years I thought I might pick the hobby back up. I'm almost finished with the Monogram Century series F-106 and went white wheel wells versus the Chromium...
