    1/48 Hobbygawa Fw293A-2 / U1

If you are needing space for another intake, would a belly intake like on a P-51 Mustang be something that you could consider? Or is that too big / too far back / or the wrong style?

This is super cool. And I like that you are actually plumbing it like a real jet. I would think that a lot of that internal stuff would get left out if anyone else was doing it.

I just started doing something like this recently. I was having trouble sanding in tight spaces so I started gluing sandpaper to the end of plastic sprues.

ready to throw away the testors "orange tube"

Like others have said, you should have a few different glues on your bench because they all have their strengths (and weaknesses). For bare plastics with no paint or chrome on them I have two main glues. When the parts fit really well together and there is not a gap I use Tamiya Thin with the...

    Downdraft Spray Table

Thanks for sending me the link, Keith. I just read through all this. I need to totally rethink my whole booth plan. I come from industrial fans and blowers, so I was thinking axial fans and small AC ducting for exhaust. It never occured to me to use a shop vac. And with the very small size of...

I need to add texture to paint.

I'll post some pics once I have a finished product. I still have some more testing to do. I used SIG micro balloons. You can buy them at hobby shops or places that sell supplies for building radio control airplanes. You mix them into epoxy to make a better and lighter filler.

I need to add texture to paint.

I didn't update the thread. I put some micro balloons in the paint and it worked pretty good.

    2k clear

Splash Paints has a great 2k clear, and it is sold in small quantities which makes it easier to use. I recently went to Tropical Glitz and picked up a quart of 2k clear to safe money. It was like $65, but I have a lifetime supply of 2k clear now. I will never have to buy any more. Price...

I need to add texture to paint.

I need to add texture to paint.

I work in 1:24th scale cars. I need to find a way to add some texture to my paint. I need to paint a ragtop sunroof. I googled this and people are putting all kids of crap in their paint. Baking soda, baby powder, flour, and who knows what else. Does anyone have a less backwoods way to add...

    Needle size

I have several airbrushes so I can choose any clearcoat I want. I use Mr Super Clear UV cut in spray cans. That works so well I don't even bother with my airbrush. Now to answer your question. If you are painting cars, you don't need to go any smaller than 0.35mm needle. I usually use 0.50mm...

Primer, Paint and Clear Coat Questions...

You seem to have a lot of questions about painting cars. Here is how to get a decent paint job consistently, no matter what type of paint you use. First, I would stay from enamel paint unless you absolutely have to. It doesn't dry very fast at all. 1. Prep the body. Remove mold lines, and...

    Cheap airbrush musings

I couldn't bring myself to read that whole first post. So here is blanket airbrush info. I love love LOVE airbrushes that have a floating needle seat in them. This means the needle seat is a cone shape that requires no tools to remove or install. This style of needle seat is also easier to...
