    Photo Etch Bender (Homemade)

    Yes sir, on the lathe. I made the knob with course thread so it doesn't take much movement to tighten and loosen. It sacrifices some preload power but it's not needed. I'm happy to report though that I've gotten to use it lots and it's great! So far the shaping of the one "leg, arm" has been...

    Photo Etch Bender (Homemade)

    I decided to make my own for fun. It took a few hours. I had the material on hand but I'm guessing it was about 5 dollars worth of aluminum. I turned the knob-screw as well. I copied a typical design but left the shaping for whatever I need in the future. Hope you like it.

    Spare Parts Exchange Database

    I have maintained a group spreadsheet before and it would serve the purpose. However it can become quite unwieldy with the inflow of data. My example: If users are given read write access then it will also be at risk of damage. If there's an admin(s) then they can protect it by vetting and...

    Maybe just a typo... regardless though, lets try and keep this thread on point.

    Spare Parts Exchange Database

    It would only have whatever has been put in by the part holder. I'm envisioning a form that auto populates the database that users will fill out. Need to be careful of garbage in garbage out but ultimately it would be in everyone's best interest to be accurate. For the beginning it'll be...

    Spare Parts Exchange Database

    Is there such a thing? Seems like we have all kinds of bits and pieces left over from kits and projects. Ordering sprus or replacement parts takes a long time if even possible. It would be cool if we could input a model number, spru letter number, position number and PRESTO, someone has the...

    Education for Layering Order of Surface Treatments.

    Sorry for the wacky title but seemed to fit what I was thinking. After having my own questions and perusing the usual sources, I've become more confused because everyone does something different. Now I know this will be subjective and based on individual experiences, but... What would be the...

    WTB - Bell 212 or UH-1N =>1/48

    I'm looking for a quality kit of the above. I worked on the B212 for years and would love to recreate my past. The Italeri kit doesn't have enough detail for me. The Kitty Hawk kit would be great. If anyone is willing to let one go, please contact.

    Hello from BC, Canada

    Funnily I was comparing my old Tamiya 23ml bottles to the new ones today. All the warnings now, it's amazing I lived through my model making. They still spray nicely though.

    Hello from BC, Canada

    Hey all. Looking forward to chatting. I'm retired and have come back to model making using my supplies from the 70's-80's. Those models are long gone but will build more. I was an AME (Aircraft Maintenance Engineer) with Transport Canada and spent many years working on Helicopters and hoping to...
