What would you do with these paints?

    Vallejo and patience.

What would you do with these paints?

Throw them away or give them away. I use acrylics 100 percent now due to easy cleaning of the hand and air brush. I use the Folk Art and cheap paints on cheap models. And Tamiya and Vallejo on the kits that are more expensive. But all acrylics. Usually. My days of Humbrol quality and such...

    AMT kits, trash or stash?

I agree. I built that dozer maybe 30 years ago, it's long gone. So I bought the same kit a couple years ago and it's in my stash for a future build.

    AMT kits, trash or stash?

AMT, Monogram, ERTL, older Revell, etc etc. Make some great kits, fun to build. But as super fine - scale modeling goes they are not it. Perfect for fun and the shelf. As acurate as needed most of the time. But if you are a purest scaler prude, look elsewhere. If you lose sleep over...

    Another Carro Armato

Did this happen? LRDG 15 CWT W/ Breda

My dad was a hard core lover of the ocean. He was a US Marine in the 1950's, and he sailed sailboats in my growing up years in the 60s and 70s. I loved the desert, he loved the sea. It's very similar, but different.

Did this happen? LRDG 15 CWT W/ Breda

Yep, I majored in civil engineering... which is unrelated to the desert in the big picture, but Bagnold brought engineering, war, and the desert together for me.

Did this happen? LRDG 15 CWT W/ Breda

Maybe you could find the time and see the desert. Take a trip to Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico or east California. It sounds like you will love it. The desert is a special place to those who can appreciate it. There is a magic to those who see it's beauty. Usually people either love it or...

Did this happen? LRDG 15 CWT W/ Breda

Yes Sir. I own that one, too. And his book The Physics of Blown Sand. And some books by David Lloyd Owen, Tim Moreman, Brendan O'Carroll.

Did this happen? LRDG 15 CWT W/ Breda

Yeah, I hear ya. I love the desert, in the winter. Been a desert camper, hiker, Jeeper, and motorcyclist since the 1970's. But, only in the winter time now. Did a few summer camping trips in the Mojave desert with my brother back when I was in my early 20's. We almost died. 123 degrees F...

    Movies You Watch You Build

So, It's a favorite pastime of mine to build military model kits while watching war films. My favorite, although it is fiction, is the film Where Eagles Dare. I've built a couple JU52's and probably 10 Kubelwagens over the decades while watching this film. There's something about the adverse...

    Display cabinet

So, I found this on 'offer-up" a few years ago. $60 US Dollars. Local to me, I drove over and got it. I prefer wall mounted display cases. And I have run out of room. Especially since now I am leaning towards 1/16th scale armor. But I still build 1/35th military miniatures and the...

    Washing a new model

I wash the sprues in dish soap, and rinse and air dry. Just a habit since I had paint adhesion issues decades ago. I haven't had paint sticking problems ever since. So now my terrible paint jobs stay on forever.

AMT 1/48 Grumman F7F-3 Tigercat (COMPLETED)

Nice. I love the somewhat unusual and / or obscure aircraft kits. Twin engine stuff especially. The OV-10 Bronco and P-61 Black Widow come to mind. Be Well. Model On. Eric

    Dry Fitting

When I am in this situation, it comes down to the glue type. Slower dry if you may have fitment issues and need to adjust parts as you go to add other parts. First, I dry fit each part individually. I make sure that it fits in its place and that there are no issues with clearance. Clearance...
