    Tamiya Russian JS-2 1/48 build...

Just the 1/48th thing. With armor, I've always done 1/35. A few more photos I just dug up:

    Tamiya Russian JS-2 1/48 build...

Back in 2022 I found several kits at our local resale shop. Planes and armor. I had gotten frustrated with my model railroad stuff, so it was time. I also need some air brush practice, as I had just gotten my first decent one the year before. Come January 2023 I built a couple. It was before I...

    Tamiya Panther Ausf.D construction question

I agree. And it is a noticeable difference. They ended up at around 110 grams each.

    Tamiya Panther Ausf.D construction question

A year or so ago, I tried a couple 1/48th tank kits from Tamiya. Both of them had weights to add to the chassis. The Churchill had a couple of flat metal bars, and the JS-2 had 4 round metal bars, held on by plastic cap things. I like the extra weight, but turns out I don't like 1/48th Armor...

    Pavesi P4-100 Gun tractor 2025-06

First thing I thought of when I saw the pictures of this, was the M561 Gama Goat. It's what we used to tow our M102 howitzers.

Returning to Modeling After 50+ Years - Need Advice...

There is a learning curve. I bought my first decent airbrush 4 years ago, at 65, even though I've been modeling since the 60s. After four years, and hours of YouTube videos, I consider myself adequat. That said, it is very worth it. My models are much better because I spent the time to learn how...

    Survivors from my youth...

I actually think I should pick up the newest version of each, and build them again, with what I know now. They would look good on the shelf together, built 45 years apart.

    Survivors from my youth...

I can't decide if I should try to fix 'em up, or leave 'em as they are.

    Survivors from my youth...

Most of the models I've built since I was a kid, did not survive. Be it BB guns, firecrackers, or my kids growing up, most are gone. After a forced retirement at age 60, we moved south in 2016. That involved clearing out a lot of stuff (you all understand). I sold some of my stash, donated the...

1/35 Meng Merkava Mk.4M (with roof slats)

Very, very nice. I've never built any modern armor, but I think that will change.

    Thrown together...

My Dad built several of them back when back when I was a kid, so maybe early 70s. He used auto primer and paint on the metal body, with wet sanding and polishing. I built a couple when I was young. Mine came out OK, but not like Dad's. Wish some had survived.

    1989 NHRA Top Fuel Champion

Don't stop posting. I am enjoying your build. I rarely do cars, and I've never done wiring, so this is good. And it looks great to me.

So it ran two plugs per cylinder? I see a lot of wires.

    X-acto knives

The softer grip one, that tightens from the none blade end, works well for me. Plus they don't roll off the bench. ELMERS Xacto Black Gripster Knife

    Recent build...

Funny about all the stuff from years past being gone. I was thinking of starting a thread on just that thing. I have two models that survived from my youth (19-21) sitting on a shelf. Armor. Somewhat worse for wear, but mostly intact. All the rest are gone...bb guns, fire crackers when young...
