In 15 days, we'll be moving in to our new house out in the country.

It's in the next town over from where I am now and it's a very small town but within driving distance to whatever we need.

Hobby room in the basement, too!

This is why I'm asking folks about the Trek model posters.

Congrats!!! I remember when I bought my house 5 years ago.... It was a happy day!!
;D

Big congratulations!! Very exciting!! So jealous ;) I can't wait to get outta my 900sq ft hole ... lol

900's nothing to sneeze at. Pretty good size actually. Cozy.

I think ours is going to be roughly that size. 2 bedroom, basement, small rooms...

Yeah it's cozy, 2 bedroom small kitchen, small bedrooms ... 2 car garage that is full of movie props and motorcycles... just no basement. If it had a basement I wouldn't want to move so bad ... lol

SO looking forward to having my own sanctum where, instead of being confined to a 4 foot desk, I can sprawl, put my feet up, crank Pandora...

good times!

a development of sorts:

she won't let me hang models from the living room or bedroom ceiling whether they be spaceships or airplanes.

I wouldn't mind hanging them from the ceiling in the basement except for the fact that the height of the room is 6 feet.

Don't really know what to do or say about the situation

yet another development!

I can't bring my desk. It's too wide and too deep to fit in the door.

But, we do have a solution. I'm going to buy a countertop unit at the hardware store and mount it on the wall creating a floating desk.

Yay! I've always wanted one of those!

What about pulling the desk apart? I had to do that with two of the desk I own. Most large desk do come apart.

I have one of those, and it has a wooden top. For mine, the top came off with a few screws. And so did the legs. Made is so you could take it right through the door.

But just ignore me if you have your heart set on the floating desk. I am only trying to be helpful....

Not ignoring. Honest! ;D

I've looked for screws to see if the top can come off. Nothing. Just the legs come off and the drawers come out.

That is the way mine was, the legs came off and I could get it through the door. But once I looked further inside the drawers, I found the screws that held on the top.

Just making sure, sometimes unwanted advice can be a pain.

any advise is welcome and helpful, especially in my case!

I thank you for the thought though!

mostly moved in and I'm very sore and very tired.

See, I had to move out the in-laws and move them back into their apartment. Then we had to move ourselves out of the apartment and into the house. If it weren't for the garage, we'd be hip deep in stuff. Just feels like a never ending job.
