This model was my first try at zimmerit. I used Elmer's wood filler and the tool that came with the kit. I couldn't get it to look good the first few tries, scrapped it off and tried again. Never got the look of factory applied, so in my mind this is a field application. I don't know if they even did that,  but I have seen photos of some rough zimmerit. I also think I might have over weathered the model, but I was having so much fun it was hard to stop.
