Hi Chaps
Got another little Bust on the bench ...well I say little ,but its actually 1/6 scale . This time a Mongol General ;D .Its a nice piece from Wee Friends ,available through www.friendshipmodels.org.uk at a very reasonable price too considering the size !
Anyhoo ....some pics
After initial clean up I primed him with matt Black ,there's lot of nooks and undercuts on this one so the black will make sure the shadows are filled up
His head was then airbrushed with Tamiya Hull Red ,followed by some Tanned Flesh and finally I added whit to the flesh and sprayed that downwards on to the cheekbones ,nose etc . This is just the base coat for the oils ,so still a lot to do .
I also just noticed his Tash needs a bit of help !! ,a little milliput will correct it before continuing with paint .
With this being such a large bust I decided to block in some other colours with the Airbrush ,So the helmet and arm guard were both hit with Brass ,I painted his hand at the same time as the face . The neck protector was given a dark brown coat and the fur was given a quick white 'ish colour just to lighten it for the next stages
I then moved onto the main body ,this is quite a large lump of resin !!! I gave the coat a base of Tamiya flat Brown , then some Dark Yellow ,which I then lightened and sprayed from top down . The fur got the same treatment as the fur on the helmet ,I didnt bother masking anything as these are only basecoats ,there is still lots of work to do
Just for size comparison ....Manfred is 54mm !!
So ....lots to do again ;D
Thanks for looking.
