I won this from Grendels during his 1000 subscriber YouTube Contest prize giving frenzy. It's not a bad kit at all. A little flash but other than that it fits well so far.

Thanks John!

Wow link and length suspension in 1/72... Looking good o far ace

Barrel drilled, wire rungs, road wheels, sprockets, idlers, and return rollers installed. All primered up too.

One problem. The tracks. The lengths have detail on both sides but the singles do not. I wanted to do a knocked out tank but positioning the tracks realistically without using the single links will prove a challenge. :-\

This is coming together pretty quick. I knew I wanted to do this as a knocked out KV-2 but wasn't quite sure about anything more than that. A little peice of 1" blue insulating foam and some spray paint worked out well for the base. I did the trenches by applying lacquer thinner to the foam with a brush. It eats the foam and is controllable so it works well. All I need is a bit of plaster and some vegetation to finish up the base. The tank still needs a bit of work but she's done for the most part. No wash, just multiple layers of drybrushing lighter and lighter shades.

Thanks geegad. Just a lot of touch ups to do I think. I doubt any vegetation would survive in a mud hole like that. :-\

That's a good idea for a base, using a block of foam. For a second there I thought is was a brick at first glance. I may want to do that with my next build.

If I'm mistaken, is that white glue on the tank?

Great build.

Thanks FV. That's actually plaster aka mud. I'll paint it when I paint the ground work.

Sweet! That's actually a good idea for mud effects, I gotta practice using that, especially for vehicles that got stuck in the mud.

Awesome work SA, I am watching your progress till the end. Very inspirational!

Stick a fork in it this puppy is done!

Some brown and tan paint, a bit of railroad foam, and some Future to make it look wet. That’s all folks!

Enjoy! ;)
