Yeah, and when you see the comparison between the same scene with the two different actresses, you really see how Kate's performance  brought all the characters together in a cohesive way.

I have done some acting on stage, and when there is good chemistry between the actors, it creates an energy, and the characters become natural and "real".

That is clearly evident with Kate, and hopelessly devoid with Genevieve. I am more of an ensemble actor. And I think that's where Kate Mulgrew's strength was. She was clearly giving the other cast members plenty to work with.
