I really need to re-up on paint brushes. I used to have a nice collection of Model Master and IMEX brushes, but they are now falling apart due to neglect and proper care knowledge. But I liked the way they handled the job.

So, I was wandering if anyone had any experience with the AK interactive brushes. I really like the price tag on them but not sure how well that will translate into quality and thats what im after. Im a big fan of all their other products and I just cant seem to find a decent review of them.

Any input would be much appreciated. :)

I haven't used AK's brushes, but I'd recommend sable brushes over synthetic ones. Synthetic brushes are easy to care for and will likely last longer, but the synthetic bristles tend to "snap" back in place which can make painting with them harder. Some synthetic brushes can't be used with "hotter" solvents such as lacquer thinners.

The AK brushes are fantastic and made for the modeler. I use them most of the time now and less of my other brushes. To keep them in good shape and last longer I recommend their Acrylic thinner/cleaner. I used the cleaner to clean my other brushes that I thought were clean....but the cleaner showed they weren't that clean. The combo of the AK brushes and cleaner and you will be set for some time.
