Bandai 1/144 HG 'Gundam Bael'

A while back, someone asked me if I built Gunpla.
Well, for something different, here my first Gunpla/Gundam build in well over 20 years
The Bandai High Grade 'Gundam Bael' in 1/144 scale

A quick look at the parts:

Started out with sub-assembly work.
The torso.
The little black areas would normally be stickers, I used a micro-Sharpie

The head.
The blue areas on the 'horns' were supposed to be stickers, but I opted instead to use Gundam markers
The eyes, by contrast, are the stickers from the kit

The arms

The upper body assembled

The rather massive-looking feet

Assembled legs

The hips and legs assembled

The sword pod for his waist, allowing for the sabers to be stored.

The wing-flight pod for his back

Separated the major assemblies and went in with a Gundam panel marker to bring out the many lines on the model.
I was very pleased with the overall effect.

I love how this is looking.
