Hello, folks,
For the holiday, I decided to do a quick little build.
And I do mean both quick and little.
I built up the new 1/72 TIE Advanced X-1 from Bandai.
Right off the bat, I was impressed with the engineering of this kit.
It's intended as a snap kit, and works VERY well as such.
The sprues are laid out very well, but what impressed me most was the fact they were able to mold the wing panels as a single unit in a combination of both styrene and ABS plastic.
They also supplied glass or empty frames for the cockpit and top hatch
A quick look at the various sprues
I did some minimal detailing in the cockpit, as most of it isn't very visible once built
I didn't do much in the way of painting on this one, as I didn't see a lot of need.
I touched up the wings with some grey primer to cover where the black sprue came in.
