I had pre-ordered the Bandai Stormtrooper before Christmas, and today it finally arrived. I thought long and hard about what to do with it. I didn't want to build the traditional trooper, and then I found this as my inspiration. I want to build a slightly battleworn trooper and put him into some contextual setting yet tbd...

I can't say enough good about the engineering of this kit. It is phenomenal. They make some trade-offs due to the ability to pose it in a variety of positions. In that regard it is something like an action figure that you build, but still, the fit is awesome. So, here it goes... I know nothing about this Imperial Commandos thing, but I do like the clone-esque treatment of a traditional stormtrooper and it gives me just enough to scratchbuild and accessorize....

Thanks, more to come soon. Jaitea, yeah I was looking at your pics. I'm going to start building the pauldron and other accessories over the weekend.

I had a similar take on my Screamin trooper. Weathered troopers look great.

Ahhh, now that is pretty cool Ozzman78. I really like the tunic, nice touch. I had thought about a Boba Fett type tunic for this character, don't know if I will or not. 1/12 is still a bit small, we'll see.. I love all the additions you've made, really makes it unique.

I built a pauldron for this last week, came out sweet. I can upload a template if anyone wants it. I'll try to get to it on Saturday.

Here is a short update on where I'm at. I have not had much time to devote to any model making lately. I have given the armor dents here and there, when it's finished I'm going to give him a medium gray/brown wash and put him in a small diorama that I'm working out in my head. There is a lot about this kit I love and a few things that I don't, but it is coming along.

BTW I have a template for the pauldron in pdf form, if anyone wants it, let me know.
