Good Day Folks!

I was wondering, what type of vehicle would have been used for mobile communications? Either Korean or Vietnam era. Any kit suggestions would be great! I am working on building up a stash, while I have the money.

Thanks in advance,

-Steven

What are you referring to? A Radio Van! A command post? Need more info!

The American M577 APC Command post had lots of Radios! 4 or 6 nets I believe

I was thinking of a command post, thanks for the suggestion on the M577 APC Command post.

Thanks Jelly, that is exactly what I had in mind, right down to the antenna! Was that kit originally an ambulance? Which kit is that?

Thanks in advance,

Steven

you can still get that kit and i think its italeri that make it, and it would be an ambulance.

That kit is sort of the same as the Ambulance, was the same kit, just didn't have the ambulance specific stuff in it, and the ambulance doesn't come with the communications stuff.

That being said....not hard to make the Ambulance into the communications truck as long as you don't open the rear doors.

This particular kit hasn't been re-issued by Italeri in a very long time, however they have in the past "lent" their tooling to Bilek models, so you might find it under that name as well.

That veichle was called shelter and contained a radio hf for the ccc(command and control center) it been in use in the italian army till 1963 , and been abandoned and replaced with one shelter ueo, the raso inside was one URR 399 and some time the 499 composed by one transmitter collind BC610 tuner and two receivers BC312 covering frequency from 3mhz to 18 Mhz (receivers) transmiter was a 400 kw covering till 30 Mgz . the othjer model 499 was same tx and rx but could recive with radio tty

That is just gorgeous Jelly! Is this yours?

:) Oh, no Norm... it is not mine... it´s just a pic that I took from the www trying to bring some light to Wig Wag question...

As Scott (Millican) says the original (Italaeri) kit is sold now under another brand... about 17 euros in Europe...

Cheers :)
