F1 to NBC

That is because come Summer of 2013, Speed channel will be no more, and it going to be turned into another Fox Sports channel. Don' know what is going to happen to the shows on Speed, but seems like F1 moving to NBC is just the first step in the exodus.

Spud, Im a F1 nut man. Open Wheel all the way. Nascar is my third favorite. Just happened to be able to get alot of Nascar kits CHEAP lol. Im going to be working on obtaining some F1 kits real soon though. Worrying about supplies and doing the kits I have first before I branch out and spend money on additional kits. I need to get this painting with an airbrush figured out before I worry about buying any new kits. Im a HUGE F1 fan. Kimi all the way. Button a close second. Alonso at the tail end :D. Indy is my second favorite racing. Good friend of mine Sage Karam from Nazareth, PA actually races for Andretti Autosport in the Star Mazda series and actually just tested a Indy lights car the other day for AA. Then comes Nascar, not to mention Im a big fan of Sprint car and Late Model Stock Car racing on dirt as well. I knew SPEED had to be in trouble when I tuned in last night and Countdown to UFC was on before Formula 1 Debreif and Qualifying for the Korean Grand Prix ha ha.

lol. i haven't really watched it since Senna was killed that really put a downer on it for me. I remember seeing it when i was living in London, and i cried like a little school girl when i head the news.

But i do like button he seems to be pretty good,

Senna's son is racing now. He is starting back in like 22nd in tonights Korean Grand Prix. I didn't really have a favorite till Kimi Raikkonen came on the scene. Ive been a Raikkonen fan since before he went to McClarren, & a Button fan since back to the Lucky Strike car days. Not a fan of Shumaucker (*sp?) fan at all. You dont retire from something then come back. I dont know why Alonso ever left Renault, and I kinda like Rossburg as well. Just a fan of the great racing.

Bruno isnt Ayrton's son, he is his nephew. Nice to see the second generation at the wheel now, and in a fairly competitve car too.
I love F1, I have been watching it since the early 70's, was a fan of Mario Andretti and Jackie Stewart back in the day, the Villeneuve later on.

The Demise of Speed Channel wont bother me much, since thier F1 coverage is blacked out here in Canada in favor of our own broadcasters TSN and RDS. Congrats to NBC for securing the US broadcasting rights. Hoping they dont Americanize it like they did with the highly biased Olympics coverage.

See I'm just like you with the Olympics but here in the states, this years Olympics featured Canada and the UK more then the USA. I'm a huge wrestling buff. We had a guy going for gold in his first attempt and didnt even get to see it live. They showed more other Gold medal matches from two wrestlers from other Countries. Im currently waiting up to watch the Korean Grand Prix. Big time F1 fan. Mario Andretti my friend, I can get you a personalized autograph if your still a big Mario fan. As I mentioned above, my good friend Sage Karam lives next door to the Andrettis and is actually a contracted driver in their support series. He is currently running the Star Mazda Series in the Comfort Revolution #88 and just tested the AFS Indy Lights car. I can get you anything Andretti you want. If you actually go to Youtube.com and search for A day in the Life of Sage Karam, you can see who he is and actually see the Andrettis mansions in the video. If your F1 races are blacked out alot of times you can go to www.justintv.com and watch them online live or you can go to the F1 site and watch the timing and scoring chart. Better then nothing ha.

I thought it was odd the other day, when Fox announced its contract extension with NASCAR, that they were going to be broadcasting all the Truck races. Guess this explains why.

I would love an autograph of Andretti, dont go to too much hassle though. I missed a chance to meet him over the summer, he did a pr visit at one of the local Firestone dealers but I had to work that day. Im hoping to get a Tamiya 1/12 Ferrari 312 F1 kit some day, needless to say it would be built in Mario's markings. I was just thinking it would be cool to send him a sheet of clear decal film to sign with a magic marker. I could then apply it to a model I might build someday.

As for the F1 coverage, its only the Speed Channel coverage that is blacked out, we get full coverage from TSN, live qualifying and races.

I hope NBC getting F1 is good for the sport in the States. The New Jersey GP won't take place next year as planned but in 2014, but still, there's the one in Texas next month.

Really hoping F1 can bring a good show to the US. They really need to make up for the farcical Indianapolis 2005.

The problem in Indy really wasnt anyones fault other then the tire manufacturers. Hense they are now out of the sport and Perelli is now in. Perelli makes a good tyre but they still have a lot to proove. Indy is a great spot to have a F1 race. I feel Baltimore would be too. I'm so glad they are coming to NJ in 2014 as its a lot closer for me to attend which you can bet your life savings that Ill be there :D ha ha . I can't wait.
