Just bought Tamiya's 1/35 Mutt and am inclined to paint it the Army version/82 Airborne version according to Tamiya. The instructions are a little vague. It seems the pattern calls for Buff (XF-57) Red BRown (xf-64) and Flat black (mixed with Field grey???). The Buff and Red Brown are to be mixed with white, but they don't say how much. I'm a bit at sea here, since I've usually done WWII armour and earlier.
Love to paint it just plain buff. But I'm curious: did the Mutt ever serve anywhere looking like that? It's the old issue of historical accuracy versus what looks good. I tend to favour the latter. Any ideas or knowledge? I know this vehicle served from late 50s into the 80s, so it must have seen all kinds of camo patterns.
