I know EXACTLY what you mean. Unlike the Matt which is almost idiot-proof, the gloss takes a bit of a learned hand in order to get a smooth finish free of "texture". A little higher pressure than normal as Elm said, say 25psi helps, but the real trick is to apply it thick and fast. You can not sit there "building it up" like you would a coat of pain. Wont work. You've got to pull that trigger back, do quick, heavy passes up close. Might look to thick but it shrinks down quite a bit as it dries and cures. Experiment on scrap and you'll get the hang of it.
