Hello All,
As some of you know I recently picked up a Hobby Boss A-10. I decided that I was going to try and dress up the cockpit with the Eduard Photo Etch set and a resin seat from Aires. I wanted to take a little break from my gun so I cracked the kit open and took a shot.
Here are some pics of the Kit seat sitting in the tub. It does look nice, but I'm trying to stretch my skills a little bit:
Here are some pics of the kit piece next to the resin piece.
I know some of that detail will get lost but I am having fun so
Here came the really hard part. The resin seat was a bit wider than the kit part so I had to thin the walls of the tub to get it to fit and it was SNUG. So snug I was worried about breaking the seat. I finally got it in though:
Just to make sure the Eduard P.E. would fit I did a little dry fit of that:
Then some P.E. for the tub. You'll never see it but oh well, took 2 minutes.
Now, since the seat was a really tight fit and I knew after I painted it I would have to shove it back in there I decided to glue it in now and the P.E. seat belts etc. I figured the seat will be better protected in the tub, the only hassle will be painting later, but I'll figure that out then.
Primer:
Next up is hitting it with some dark grey, painting the cushions etc.
thanks for taking a look!
