I truly miss the days when I was young and the whole family got together for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It was a spectacular affair full of food, laughs and wonderful memories. Sadly those days are gone. It's just a few of us now. My wife usually has to work on the holidays so we are relegated to being at home. We do plan family Christmas in January as it's easier for everyone to get time off then. It is nice and fun but it's still only a shadow of what used to be.
