How to have a successful YouTube channel

this is very true, be yourself, just have fun with it, to expect everyone just beacuse you posted something is just bogas. you have to do something different too, you cant really do the same thing everyone ells is doing.

another thing dont really expect for your channel to just get famous right off the bat, beacuse in my personal opinion in order to be like all these channels that get all these views, the whole reason they do is beacuse there getting attention doing something completely different, even if its something people really dont like. for example some people have a lot of people posting and viewing videos beacuse they suck and a lot of people just want to see how bad it sucks, and then have there little fun nit picking at it. and some people may just naturally be popular on the Internet or have lots of friends on the Internet already which gives them a big advantage. or they have lots of money in equipment they use.

Good advice that.

I'm not sure if I'll do any youtube stuff. I will if I feel like I've got something worth saying. Maybe some out of box reviews, but let's face it, I'm still learning all this stuff.

I like what he said about treating people on the internet like they're there in the room with you.

And do it in less than 12 minutes if you aren't going to show something other than your mug. Those of with ADHD just give up after about 3 minutes. :p

It's only helpful if you're interested in getting started and want to learn a few ins and outs.

If not, then who can blame you for switching off. ;)

It's helpful, I'll agree.
But it's not all that useful for us here beyond the very basics.

I'll agree with what those here have added.
Keep it short, and to the point.
Also, with today's software, there's no law saying you have to record it all in one session. Feel free to combine multiple shorts into one video.

Some other tips I've picked up:
Get your voice volume as high as it can go.
Try and keep any background music to a low level as to not drown out your vocals.
If you use an "intro," try and keep it short.

I posted this for the beginner. Not the experienced YouTuber. Quite a few of us here at SMA are doing YouTube videos and I thought that this might help a few get started!

The video does offer good advice for those starting off.

I do agree with keep it short and what Quaralane added.
