Hi all,

its been a while :)

I'm revamping a very old project I started nine years ago which is Tamiya's 1/350 Bismarck, the model is in a sorry half built state, with it half hull cut off in an attempt to make a waterline model, an old layer of paint is on the model as well some glued down parts, which would be a good way to strip these away and not harm the model ?

Any help would be great,

thanks,

Shane.

To strip the paint, just soak in a 2:1 mixture of Water and SimpleGreen ( you may also use Castrol Super Clean or other similar non solvent cleaners )
Let it all soak overnight and then take an old toothbrush to the more stubborn parts. If you strain off the paint bits, youc an even keep the solvent for future use.

The glue is a whole other monster.....I truly dont know how to separate already glue parts other than after the soaking to put it in the freezer and hope that contracts the glue and expands the ice pushing apart the gaps.

GOOD LUCK !

Thanks T.

ill give that a go,

as for the glue I managed to prize off some of the parts in question was a hairy process :-X
