I bought lately a set of resin wheels for model of Russian truck Ural in 1/35 scale from company called Real Model and I wanted to share with you my opinion about it.

After opening the box the Wheels looked very similar to the ones from the kit so I decided to make comparison. I assembled one wheel from the set cutting of only the pieces connecting to frame and I’ve put layer of surface on both wheels.

As you can see on the Picture, Real Model used the Wheel form plastic kit to make their own set. Unfortunately they didn’t correct those and you can see places where the rubber didn’t mix well during the injection process (green arrows) and from the inner side on the resin wheels you can see marks from the ejectors (blue arrows) which hadn’t been corrected. So you can honestly say it’s piracy in bad quality. Also the molds are used up and there places where the resin came out and needs to be removed (red arrows), removing those will take some time and precision. Pro the resin set is the fact that it’s easier to fill up resin then rubber and that in the set there are 2 spare wheels. But when you look on the prices of the Real Model set and the fact that in the near future it will rise (now there are 2 Real Model shop sites with different prices) and that you need to wait 1.5 -2 weeks for the shipment of package, then there are more Cons then Pros. So if you want to have more wheels it’s better to add small amount of money and buy additional model then you will have more spare parts. If you don’t need the additional wheels and you will be doing a bit used up and weathered vehicle you will easily mask the minuses of plastic kit wheels.
Summarizing I strongly advise not to buy this set and before you buy anything ells from this company check if it’s really worth it and if it’s not just a copy of parts from some another plastic kit.

Lukasz

PS. I posted this Just to warn every one interested in baying anything from that company. Also if it’s in the wrong part of the forum pleas move it to more appropriate please.

One person from Polish modeling forum bought from him some kind of paper boxes with rations or something and was also very disappointed as it was poor quality printed out from ink printer. When he tried to print it by him self he got better quality even thou he was doing it for the 1st time.
So unfortunately I'm not too positive about this company and I don't think I will ever by anything from him.
I understand the fact that it's just easier and better to use resin wheel but if I would want to have kit wheels just in resin I would copy them my self.
Just as a reminder I didn't post it to make bad advertisement for him just to warn every one to check carefully before they buy.
Best Regards
Lukasz
