Having joined the forum a few weeks ago, I thought it was about time I lowered the standard and started a paltry build thread
So to start with, I thought I'd build this old Clunker from 1985 (I'm selling it aren't I?). Italeri's old SR-71 Blackbird.
It's a pretty simple kit, although it should be a challenge - how they've hacked the fuselage apart to get it to fit into the box (and I assume kit the YF-12 from the same kit) is insane. sorting out the seams will be fun fun fun.
It's blooming massive though - here are the large parts next to my !/72 Airfix Typhoon. (You can see here I've already glued the cockpit section/nose to the upper fuselage).
One the airframe is out of the box, there's not a lot left in it.
...and the Clear parts and a 'Drone' thing that won't get built.
So I've made a start, I've assembled the seat, cockpit, bulkheads etc. and I'm just letting them dry before I get out the paint. Black Paint... lots and lots of Black paint. Photo's to follow.
Cheers!
