Hi,

This is a project that started in the last months of 2009. First there was a kit from Academy.

When I started with the project I had an idea and that why I bought some PE and resin parts.

I started the build with the interior and I went well, the PE fits good, also Academy had put a lot of interior parts in the kit. But as with most of my other projects, the interest went away and the kit with the rest of parts disappeared into the cabinet.

A few weeks ago the kit caught my attention and actually the inspiration came back and that led to this current situation.
I have finished the painting, decalling and weathering of the interior.

At this moment I busy with the stowage to fill the interior. I'm thinking if I will build also the engine and let it show, but first finishing the stowage ....

Cheers, Johanna

Thanks all!

I have done a lot of research after I stopped with the build. There are a lot of different M113, most very personal filled with the stuff of the men and that gives a lot of possibilities. Also the hadn't a heather, because it was to warm most of the time and when they were on the road, most of the men were sitting on the roof and left there personal gear inside or also on the roof. There is a lot of information and media about this period. I just finished a book written by Karl Marlantes, a Vietnam veteran, title is Matterhorn and I found it a very impressive book.

Geegad, I just read your thread and you did a nice job, I like it also and I give me the spirit to try to finish this project ;)

i have 2 tamiya versions of this the command post version and the iraq version so ima need to get some resin interior for them i think, would be a shame to just close them up

Wicked work my friend! I love the work you have done on the AN-VRC-64 and AN-VRC-46 wiring.... Very attentive to details ! makes the whole place come alive !!!

Keep it up....

Norm.

i love the interior work that you have done so far it looks amazing. i cna understand when the passion leave you for another subject and i think it is better to put the kit away and build on it another day rather than rush to finish it.

i'm surprised that there isnt a vietnam era group build on with so many people building vehicles of that era.

Hi,

Thanks all. I'm very interested in this area, but build also other subjects, otherwise it's to much from the same.

A small update from the work on the inside of the M113. I have searched for different items, draw some and made several prints and finally I have put it together with the other stowage parts, like the bags and rolls. I wanted to look like the M113 is on the road for a while and is taking a pause, although the ideas are still not work out, this is just a moment in time ;)

Here are the picture, hope you like it.
