Spud it certainly does surprise to me and there Are loads of extra equipment to go in as well it at top cheap model

It's not a young kit ! but it has a Ton of extra bits.... The Academy Israeli MRT APC is the same....

plenty of extras for the money !!! maybe the best APC kit to buy ??? beside the new Tamiya one that HAS no interior ....

What I found difficult with those 2 kits was to find a way to sand down or Fill in the ugly "Ejector pin" marks... older kits are riddled with... and Academy isn't immune against those yet !!!

If you know in advance you have to deal with those... you mind gets in that Groove to fix it and move on !!! with some of the Newer kits out there... we tend to get SPOILED.... Time to get out the Mini-Punch set and Mr. Dissolver Putty !!!

Looking good by the way !!!! I hope you won't lose your mind assembling those Tracks.... they are a KIT by themselves.... LOL

Keep up the good work ! you'll have lots of fun putting this together.... ENJOY !

Norm.

Cheers norm thought it was old like you say you can tell by certain little details and the track it comes with a plastic track or the separate tracks and now u scared me to my very sole about them I think I will go with the plastic track.... Cheers for the heads up and thanks for dropping by

Geegad

This looks interesting . I'd nearly get one myself ...I said nearly ??? you could go to town with that interior ;D

Chris.

lol link tracs are fine try them out rubber ones are muck

LOL I didn't want to scare you ! 8) I am truly sorry if I did !!!

I actually build both Academy kits .... maybe 8 years ago... and just swapped the Plastic treads for "AFV Club" rubber replacements tracks just recently.... They are Awesome ! and I only paid like 5 $
so I bought a few sets.... for my other APC's....

Cuz They had that NATO "Offset rubber pads"... I was looking for "those" for quite some time for my Canadian MRT Fitter and M113 APC AFV Club also makes them in Plasitc links by links....

They fit real nice and are a breeze to install... even after the model is done !!! (rubber ones)
It puts almost no tension on the Idlers.. which is good ! and I found they Droop a little... just like the real thing when the Track tensioner is Low !!!

The RUBBER Band ones in the kit are ok.. I found them a little TIGHT ! but I think they show the Older pattern...

The "offset Rubber Blocks" are more commonly seen on more modern...APC's like the A2 or A3....

The plastic Link by Link ones in my kit had a little sink hole in all the Rubber pads... all of them...
It is possible it might have been a bad Run !!! maybe yours are not like that ???

If you come across some AFV Club replacement sets... take a second look !!! you might be surprised !
but ""only buy them"" if they FIT the bill !!! historically that is !

Don't put Offset blocks tracks on a Vietnam APC... That won't work well with purist !

Good luck !

Mmmm... it seems a really good kit, mate...

Just a doubt... I can see two different plastic colors (grey & green)... how´s that? the kit comes with different age sprues ? ? one more recent that the other one ? ?

Very good idea using the foil, Geegad... ;)

Hey Jelly!

Gray is internal Accessories and Engine parts! The rest of the model is Green! Or beige if you have the IDF Fitter

:) Thanks, Norm, and sorry, sometimes it is slightly difficult to me to get the full sense of a phrase... you are telling me that they are NOT A.M. parts, ok? they came with the kit, no A.M. am I right ?
RG

Well great that you’re building this kit. I have the exact same in my stash and I can't get around to finish him. Maybe your build will give me motivation. I will be watching closely.
Cheers

Yes! Jelly! The kits ( VietNam and IDF Fitter ) APC comes with a Set Of Parts that are Molded
In Gray plastic.... The rest of the kit is either Green for the VietNam variant! And Beige for the IDF Fitter!

The Gray parts are essentially all internal parts like seats, floor, Fuel tank, complete Engine, Air Filter, Radio Rack, ....... Etc....

If you like a fully loaded kit..... Get either kits or both? They are Awesome!

Just be ready to fill some Injector pin marks.... Those kits are not new! So a little work will be necessary to make it shine!

But I can vouch for them! They look great once Assemble!

Take Care Jelly!

Norm.

Wow that looks great!! When I did my Tamiya kit I had to scratch a lot of stuff.

That kit looks pretty sweet. Lots of detail in the back and I love the foil you added for texture. Cant wait to see it painted and weathered.
