I guess this is as good a place as any to start. I haven't built a model since I was probably 10. My two sons wanted to build a model so we built a few snap together models and they lost interest. Problem is, I didn't. I went out and bought a few models and figured I would give it a try. I started with this Tamiya M60A1.

I have just been doing a little here and a little there. Life has been busy. This is all I have done so far.

I came to a step today and wasn't sure whether to glue it and if so, what gets glued to what. Here is the step in the instructions.

It is the drive sprocket. There are four pieces and I get the feeling something is suppose to be able to turn when it is all done. I put the pieces together and they "sort of" snap together but not sure if they will stay together.

So glue or no glue? If glue, what to what? Thanks.

Glue it unless your going to play with it ;) You picked a good Kit to start with and Tamiya make it Easy for people to get back into the hobby with there fantastically Engineered kits ;D

TFDaddy,
That is a pretty cool kit to start back with.
I couldn't agree with my esteemd colleague more.
Glue 'em up. Will be looking forward to seeing more.
Welcome to the 'Herd.

I agree w/ the other gentlemen, glue it.. Tamiya kits are pretty user freindly, throw some glue in the box..shake it...POP! out comes a tank.

Nice kit, gotta love Tamiya for ease of assembly.

That black poly cap that gets placed inside the sprocket doesn't need glue, just place it inside and the parts will trap it. It will allow you to move the sprocket to align the tracks to the teeth etc. All the other parts to the sprocket can be glued together.

I had read on another board (before I discovered this one), that Tamiya kits were good kits. I think I bought three to start with. I will try to post pictures as I go. The building doesn't worry me too much. It's the painting that I am not sure about.
