Mid 1980's Chevrolet Longbox

A friend of mine asked me to build him a replica of this truck for him.

I started out with an AMT 1984 GMC kit and an extra box.Here is my first mock up pic.

The start of converting 2 short boxes into a longbox.

First step was to cut the front of the white box out.

Step two: I cut off the taillight section.

Step three: I cut off 1/4" off the grey box and added it to the white box.

Last step: I cut 9/16" off the fron t of the grey box and addeed to the white box.

The top box is from another project to that I am also currently working on.

Here is a mock up with the lengthened bed.

I extended the stock frame 14 scale inches just behind where the cab will sit.

Now here is the ride height set to the measurements I was given 9" in the front 11" in the rear.

I also started to build a bench seat out of 3 bucket seats.

This is where I am at now on this build.

Laid down the white base coat today.

The box fresh out of the booth.

Going to lay the graphix out in a few days.
