Made a start on the office, this one is the recon version that has some kind or camera/radar mounted in the rear cockpit. I basecaotes evrything wiht black hoping to give it a little modulation. Has pretty nice detail that should come up well with some brush painting

The kit comes with two figures, I dont normaly bother with them but I think I might give them a go for this project.
Had a little colr let in the AB so gave them a base coat, the one on the left is from the Mustang I am currently building

Nice lookin kit, good start the shading looks very well, im lookin foward to seeing the end result. Wish i had the space to do the larger scales, nice work :)

Off to a great start there. Have this one in my stash too, so happy to watch your progress!

Worked on the figures, they came out OK....not that happy with the faces though. I tried different colours around the eyes but it just didnt look right....any suggestions ?

OK so looking for some feedback here, still undecided wether these guys are going in or not, I have to make up my mind before I close this thing up. It will be impossible to place the pilot once it is....

Hey Rookie,
This is looking good.
In the tutorial section of the forum there is one for figure
painting if you are unhappy about your aircrew. I think
they look good. If you are going to crew it up, they will
be inside.
You still thinking of putting them in? Might look pretty
cool.

Not much to add, got the main body put together. The fit was pretty good considening this is one of Tamiyas older kits, my only gripe would be that the panel lines are very fine and could be lost with various coats of paint.

I decided to keep the crew in to add a little interest to the subject. I took the camera strap off the radar operator as it looked to thick, just sat it on his lap.

I put the gear bays together, there is a dirty great seam that runs down the middle of it, imposible to remove in the concave section. Probably wont be very visible once completed

With the mustang almost done hope to spens a bit more time on this.

Thanks for looking :)

He's back.
I think it will look good with the crew.
Looking forward to more on this one too.
Thanks for taking the time to post this.

Coming together nice Rookie ...keep at it ;)

Chris.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. Got the wings on today ran into some fit issues around the rear of the engine nacelles, will have to do a bit of work correcting this, was same on both sides

Some slight gaps along the wing root, not too bad

The ill fit is realy noticeable where the machine guns will go

Still, I'm loving the look of this thing, the profile is truly unique for its era, cant wait to get some color on it and chip the buggery out of it ;D

Indeed!

Your Dinah is coming along Rookie. A little bit of Mr.Surfacer, Mr.Dissolved Putty or thin plastic shims and those gaps will be history.

Been awhile since I've got anyhting done, I have done a few bits and pieces here and there, but today was the first time I've spent any serious time on this thing. Not much of un update realy...

Had my self a maskathon !

The fit of the glass was pretty shocking, both the front and rear canopies come in 3 sections, a single piece would have been much nicer but I guess it allows you to display with canopy open..

Looking good. That's quite the unusual looking plane (but then I don't know many WWII planes ::)), I like it.
