Okay, time to start the first complete build for the new year.

This time, I'm going to be working on a lovely lady:
Moebius Models' 1/8 scale "Black Widow," based on her look from "Iron Man 2."
I will be making some modifications to her, though.

These will be where I plan on making my main modifications.
You see, my version of Natasha is going to have very short hair. Even shorter than the bob she'll be sporting in the Avengers movie
This will entail rescuplting her skull so that it's complete, adding ears to the head, and sculpting the hair.
It will also mean sculpting the collar of her suit and filling the mounting points for the kit hair

Meh....I will admit, I much prefer the long red hair in Iron Man II, vs the shorter hair in the Avengers....but I would take either.

I will also admit that I got the Black Widow kit solely for the box art! ;D ;D ;D

Nice one Q!! I saw this a while back and was thinking of grabbing it (be nice spud!! ;D ) Had big fun on a 1/8 figure recently...looking forward to see you go to town on this!! ;)

Nice to see interest in the build

@ECH,
I tend to favor short hair on women for some reason.
Which is funny, with mine falling to the middle of my back

OOOOoooooo...This looks like one to keep an eye on! Should be quite a challenge to execute your planned head mod Q! I'm sure you can do it and it'll be interesting to see how you go about it! Do me a favour though Q, don't change anything from the neck down....Looks fantastic box stock!! ;)

Only thing changing from the neck down is filling the mounting points for her hair.
That's all, I promise.

Oh, and adding the collar and seams that got excluded to allow for the kit hair

Work begins in earnest on modifying the Black Widow's head for my planned short hair modification.
Using the blue Aves Apoxie Scuplt as both filler and build material here.

I've filled in all of the holes intended for the kit hair, as well as resculpted some of her head.
These pics show some of the work I've done so far.
Next up will be her ears.

Started working on her ears.
Began by adding a rough block of Aves that was abotu the right size to both sides of her head.

Then, with a fine grinding/engraving bit in my Dremel, I went in and carved something to appoximate the shape and details of the lady's ears

why does teh right side of her head remind me of elephant man?

Looks like you have the head fleshed out now Q. Should make a real good base for the hair sculpt! Look forward to seeing what style of "do" you give her. As I said on youtube, painting her face should be both fun and challenging.

ahh, cant wait to see the hair :), good job on the ears btw

In tonight's update, the lady gets her new hairdo.
This update will be more of a "step by step" than I normally show, but I want to share how I did it.

I started by using a Sharpie to draw in a close approximation of where her hairline should be.

Then, with a piece of Aves Apoxie Sculpt, I started sculpting in her hair.
I started with a piece at the base of her neck. I then textured the Aves by pressing into it with the hair from a "Marvel Superheroes" Shadowcat figure

With that in place, I moved up to the next level of hair.
I also added the "sideburns" in front of her ears at this point.

Then I went in and put the "crown" of her hair together in two stages so that I could give her a simulated part in her hair.
Testuring was again done by pressing the "Shadowcat" hair into the Aves.
