Mr. Color Lacquer Questions

I have a couple Mr. Color lacquers I bought ages ago that I haven't really used until now. I pretty much slapped Mr. Color semi-gloss black onto the IP of my P-47 and it quickly dried to a beautiful rock-hard, semi-gloss finish and only in one coat.

I'm just wondering who else have used these paints, but I'm not really interested in the airbrushing aspect of them. How well do they work for brush painting small surfaces like cockpits and wheel bays? How long should I wait before I brush on another coat or color? Are there any colors that tend to present issues? Anything I shouldn't put on top of them? Etc. I know they are a quick drying lacquer and not really meant for brush painting, but I've had a bit of success brush painting them on small surfaces which is what I would use them for.

They are excellent for brush painting, in fact, my whole career is based on it!! ;D

Touch dry and you are fine for the next color but do keep in mind that they never really do cure, applying thinner will activate them at any time. Then it's just a matter of control.

I've painted a 1/35 Hetzer entirely by hand brush with these paints, please search Hetzer on my blog for a look. ;)

You are welcome!

That's probably the biggest difference between hand brush and airbrush - with airbrush you can give ballpark numbers on everything, thinner ratios, air pressure, distance, everything.

With hand brushing I go from straight from the bottle all the way up to 90% thinner.
