My first post isn't much of a wip but I will put my contest build progress here.

I have one question I hope another member has the answer to. There are real life dimensions of 11 meters but I am trying to verify if that is from the tip of the body to the tail or from the tip of the engine to the tail. Does anyone have a set of accurate dimensions for this subject?

Thank you.

Is this the Naboo Starfighter ?

I take photos of a real size prop at an exhibition about Star Wars in Paris years ago if that can proove to be useful. :D

more photo reference is always good :D

I have a kit from ebay on the way to compare and theoretically, if I scale the opening for the droid to the common diameter of r2d2 (18.5" if I am correct) I should have a fairly accurate dimension.

Your scratch-building this cool....are you making the patterns
or having them done? I wanted to scratch-build one of these
myself. ;D

Here is what i Shot (numerically) at the Star Wars Exhibition.

The life size (sorry, flash was not allowed on some areas).

The miniature

I sincerely doubt that it can be useful, but, hey, I like to participate and if it can help, that's OK :D

Thanks YOULI. Even for a prop, the wings are so thin. There must be a lot of steel in there.

The models and full size prop don't jive very well with the illustration in the cross section book. :D

The impossible bulkhead....

My project became much more of a challenge than originally thought.

I may just detail out the kit I ebayed for reference. There is so much wrong with the front end of the cutaway that the changes needed kind of negate using the cutaway. The piping and heatsinks aren't possible as depicted.

Thanks for those Predator pics.

And the N-1 could still prove an interesting build.
Me, I'm more likely to go grab either one of the old 1/48 Ertl kits, or the 1/72 FM one

I am still moving forward. my plan is to do a model based on the cut away and not reinvent the wheel by doing another kit.

It's all pretty straight forward with the exception of what is going on under the hood. I am going to have to take a few liberties to get it all to fit in there.

Well, have gotten sidetracked. I think I am going to want to mold this so no paint for a while.

worked up the files and die for photo etched 1/144 tie fighters this week.
