I am using a Badger 180-1 with a paasche H single action airbrush. The regulator is a Master airbrush model (which i can not recall the model at this time). I had the chance to assemble everything and run it for the first time on Saturday. It worked well once I turned up past 30 psi. Under that, I am not getting any air it seems coming through the line to spray. The paint I am using is Model master acrylics. Has anyoen encountered something liek this? The only thing I can think of is I need to add more thinner to the paint, so I will give that a try. Any other suggestions on how to troubleshoot would be appreciated. Thank you.

No air at all, but someone at FineScale was kind enough to remind that right on the manual.... acrylics shoots at 30psi. boneheaded move on my part. ;D

Acrylics will shoot (or any type of paint) at pretty much any pressure dependent on how much they are thinned. I definitely don't shoot acrylics (or any other paint) at 30psi, usually in the 15-20psi for normal work, less for fine detail work where you don't want any overspray (which you have to over thin the paint to achieve).

Only thing I shoot with that much pressure is the Vallejo primers.

I've got a badger 180-11. If your not getting air through the brush with no paint in the cup then there is something else a-funk. Any noticeable air leaks? You should be able to spray water through at around 6 psi.

I spray around 8-12psi for detail work and 12-20psi for larger pieces/coverage. At 30 psi you're just wasting paint.
