Afternoon Herdsters,

If you have seen this stuff i apologise:-

When i discovered the 'Sense of Scale' documentary on another site, some of the u'tube suggested videos also caught my eye, in particular 2 older TV series from England, 1 remember wearing out on VHS, the other i had never seen before. The first one is called Horizon, this was a show that covered lots of different arty subjects in the mid 80's and the other was called Omnibus. This was a similar show in the 90's on another channel i believe. The show i found was released in 99' and featured the whole Star Wars phenominon as Phantom Menace was about to release.

This 1 of 5 is from the horizon series

horizon How to film the impossible 1 of 5

This is 1 of 6 from the omnibus series

Omnibus - Star Wars (1999) Part 1 of 6

There is also a series from discovery called Movie magic, this is broken up into about 10 or so 22min shows each about different aspects of special effets in movies.

This one is specifically about Star Trek or DS9 i think, (sorry not a Treky) enjoy my friends.

Movie Magic Models and Miniatures Discovery Channel Terminator

And this ILM series i just came across, going to watch it now myself.

ILM: Creating the Impossible [part 1]

I think the horizon show is the best as its real old school with blue screens and actual models, no CGI in sight.

Enjoy my friends
