Well, Ive been busy with life and havent posted in a bit. I did get another project done. The 1/48 Hasegawa F-14D Idol Masters series.
These were Japan only releases, so they show up rarely in the States. This one popped up and I was able to snag it. The kit itself, blargh. This was my first Hasegawa F-14 in 48, and its my last. Unless a special markings one comes up again. I get that its from older molds, but these are supposed to be top of the line kits. Whatever.
Anyway, the decals are no better. Thick, brittle and hard to work with. They break if you sneeze and require more Solvaset than I have ever used on one kit. And you need Sovaset. Anything weaker wont work.
All that said, I managed to get it to work. My son is in Japan at the moment and I have him on the lookout for the F-15, 16 and 22 in the series.
