Question for Armor guys.

U.S. WWII armor. Were the tools the same color as the armor? I've seen builders do both and I have had a hard time finding photos of clean wwII tanks in action. The dust covers everything and it's hard to tell.

Tools were attached long after the hull was painted .
Most kit would look like this :

The above is the norm , but steel parts might be painted olive .
Wood handles could be painted if they were not varnished ,, so you have a lot of flexibility
