Hi guys Here I am planing to show you when i try to make my CONDAR a heck of a lot better. It's my second attempt, the first was a few years ago. Didn't work out so good. Don't mind the screen, its just one of Bad-Grendels cats.

The seams came apart freaking easy, I'm surprised the model was staying together. And i still have the instructions left.

Here you can see the old number 103 under the paint.

OK i was planing to add a small You-tube video were u could see me run my mobile phone camera over the instructions, but the bloody video wont show up. But here is the link, and don't mind the snapping sound. It's just me chewing on candy.

Oh yea, i forgot. If any one have this one in an unsealed box, a scanned copy of the decals would be great. Unles some one knows were to get replacement decals.

Cool project. I'm getting into Mechs of all kinds and this is interesting.

LOL!! One of my cats in the background....

I do have this kit still sealed in the box, but it is in a storage center buried under 20 ft of other items. I won't be able to get to it until mid to late October at the earliest.

I have a smaller scale kit that needs the TLC treatment, just packed away the legs to it, and they came apart just like yours did.

I'm not sure if you have this in Sweden, but there's a household cleaner called Simple Green that works wonders for stripping paint off a model. I'd recommend that over scraping it off, if you can get it.

These are some cool models, I remember seeing the whole line when I was a kid, wish I'd bought them!

The reason why the scraping on the torso is that i tried removing the unit number 103 using only warm water, but it was newer then the rest of the decals. So i just scratched whit my GW sculpting tool, Sens i used water paint it was easy to remove.

So the CONDAR is slowly rising from the grave i dug for it. And this weekend I have been working on the hands and the gun a bit, until tomorrow when I'm going and buying some braking fluid. Apparently thats suppose to be great, but quite messy.

Hi guys so I did some work and some test paint on the Condar to day.

As i rebuild this Model I utilize the broken of pins to train my self in doing repair work, however some times it doesn't turn out to god as you can see. I damaged the top left pin hole, but sense the shoulder joint will keep it from moving were OK.

Here's a close up of the pilot, i was actually trying to photo the canopy hinge.
DSC_0012_zpsd6ecadac.jpg

Here you can see the canopy is slanting slightly, so i didn't get the holes centered.

Here you can see me testing out the primer color on the Condar.

Got it a bit runny on the back of this one.

Keep up the good work, re building some of these older models is a sure test of patience. But you will be rewarded....

Ok so to day I managed to paint only 6 parts inside. The two upper thighs and the cockpit got its only and final color of prime gray.

My very first "Robotech defenders" model kit I built back in 1985 !

So much memories ! Thanks for sharing this with us Opannes :D

Concerning the color aspect of your Condar you may know that the original color scheme (from Dougram fang of the sun, the japanese original anime show) is kind of boring :)

Since it's my first Robotech model kit I ever built I kinda like the color scheme, brown-like camouflage, revell choose to illustrate on the art box.

SAM_1181.jpg

A lot of "realistic" color variation are available on the net, but a classic tank camouflage, even modern one can be interesting... No brown ? Choose green like on this other Dougram model kit

Tiquila_Gunner.JPG

A simple dark grey wit a white dry bush can do the trick too like on this other dougram mech

Greif.JPG

On this Bushman I think it's a little too much but the german tank WWII camouflage is a good idea too.

This one is neat but certainly not your good choice ;)
