I just completed this 1983 Nissan Pulsar kit from Aoshima.

Like any of these 1/24th scale automotive kits from Aoshima, they are well engineered, and relatively simple. It is a curbside kit, so the hood does not open. The interior is simple but pretty well represented. And the best part is Aoshima does a great job of balancing simplicity with a kit that can produce great results.

I call this kit Retrowave style because I was watching a lot of Miami Vice earlier this year so I decided to try designing some wheels that would totally fit that retrowave or synthwave music genre. And then after the wheels were designed I went and looked for a model kit that would look good rolling on them. It was strange to come up with the wheels first and then pick out the car for the wheels. I also chose the Nissan Pulsar because it was one of the more common cars in my high school parking lot back in the early 90's. There were 4-5 of them out in the lot. and a couple of my friends were owners of them.

So anyways, on to the pictures.

Keep in mind that in most of the photos the car does not have wipers on it. I got excited to take photod forgot them. The finished car has wipers. HAHA

Chiclet wheels .
hold the lug nuts
;)

would fit right into Kung Fury
The 4 center squares would be a hub cap that covers up the bolts.

Movies like Kung Fury are exactly what I was thinking of. Neon colors and synthesizers. So when I was looking for a car I wanted straight edges and lots of angles.

You mean the 3 squares and the pink chiclet grande .

Maybe the chiclet grande is a lever that pulls down and releases the wheel , lol
Chiclet speed release
