Hi guys,
I've just found this forum and I'd like to contribute with the project that is on my workbench now.

During the summer holidays I started a new scratch built project: the Valkyrie flying disk from the Iron Sky movie.
This is the original design I saw a long time before the movie.

And here you can see some other pictures I used for reference:

As you can see there are various differences in the designs in these images, so I have had to give my own interpretation.
It was difficult to work out the size of the real beast and, with the help of the movie, I guessed it should have a diameter of about 60 meters. With a 1:350 scale we have a diameter of about 185mm for the model. But in the last few weeks I've been able to see the director's cut version of the movie with original English audio where a reporter talks about "60 feets across" ! So we are talking of a 1:100 scale, not 1:350 !

For this model I decided to use polystyrene sheets for the main body. Since I have a CNC router I cut the sheets with it.
I made a fast 3D sketch:

From the 3D sketch I derived the outline that I cut on the sheets :

Then I started to build the skeleton and the main body of the flying disk:

Finally some boring sanding after applying the putty on the seams.

Here we go with some more interesting shapes and with the housing of the main thruster.

Other photos in the next message !

I hope you like the subject! ;D

Yeeeeeessssss.... exactly my thing!

Out of interest: Can you order all the vehicles from the alb-lab-site via IM?!

Thank you, I'm happy you like it ! :D

Tigrazor, some kits on my web site can still be ordered. Let me know which one you are interested in.

Here you can see other in progress photos about the lower dome. I wanted to make a hollow piece. Maybe I didn't use the fastest technique, but it didn't took much time.
I glued all the 24 pieces together (I used a 0.5mm plasticard), then I roughed out the steps with a cutter. Finally I applyied Tamiya putty and sanded down to a smooth surface.
To finish the part I have to add some panel lines, a few details and a texture from fusion mold.

In the following photos you can see : main shapes of the turret (I used again the laminating technique), of the ball turret, the finishing ring of the lower dome.
As reference, the background grid have a 1cm step. The ball turret diameter is 19mm.

In these days I'm very busy with my job and I don't know when I'll be able to make some progress with this model. Will see.
