Went for a bit of a quick build for this one.
Going to a kit that was made back in 1994.
The "Stinger" from "SeaQuest DSV"
After primering the cockpit, I decided to make my first change from the kit parts.
Namely, a custom pilot made from a Hasbro "Marvel Universe" action figure or two.
Her head is the Black Widow, after a bob haircut, while her body is Kitty Pryde.
Some slight mods were made to get her to fit into the cockpit, namely the lowering of her neck, and the removal of about 1/8" from her lower legs
Got the main body assembled, then primered the rim where the cockpit would sit
Painted the pilot's bodysuit in with a very dark grey primer.
Painted the seat and control details in with red, followed by painting the buttons on the controls a combination of red, yellow, and green.
That was given a black wash for detail.
Then, hoping for a little trickery, I painted the buttons over with glow in the dark paint
Finished major construction on the ship itself, saving the thrusters for after paint.
I also glued the headlights into place after painting them up with silver and doing the lights themselves in glow in the dark paint
Put the lady into the cockpit, and glued the control yoke into place.
I also masked off, and primered the canopy
After gluing the canopy in place, I gave the ship a coat of grey primer.
That was followed by giving the whoel ship a coat of Testors Gold lacquer.
Once that was dry, I painted the upper part of the ship with Testors "Purplicous" lacquer.
The thruster nozzles were painted with Testors Graphite Dust lacquer and glued into place.
Once that was done, I painted the "running lights" and removed the canopy masking.
Had to do a little touch up there, and some seepage still shows, but I'm happy with how it turned out.

Not one of my best works, but it was fun doing it. And that's what's important
